The Socialist Pioneers' Coat went back to the place that inspired it.
Following the closure of Workers' Thread at Ushaw, the Socialist Pioneers' Coat went back to Greenfield Arts in Newton Aycliffe. The piece celebrates the pioneering women of Newton Aycliffe, who developed the first schools, libraries and community centres in the New Town. The Coat will be seen as part of Worker's Thread, in the Strongroom of Bishop Auckland Town Hall from 13th September - 15th November (when it will be replaced by work made by students from Parkside Academy and Aycliffe Youth and Community Centre).
